Unfinished Hardwood

Unfinished-floor-picUnfinished hardwood flooring is hardwood that is finished after it is installed. The finishing process involves sanding the floor to a smooth consistent surface and applying a custom mixed stain. The process is then followed by 3-4 coats of polyurethane to give the floor its protective finish.

Wood that is finished on site can be stained to match any decor and generally has less gaps. Also, some unfinished wood floors can be re-sanded up to three times, depending upon the thickness of the wood.
